Questions about flooring

Here are a few of our frequently asked questions. If you need to ask any other questions then do not hesitate to contact us on the number above.

How is the Machinery Powered?

The blast unit requires a 3 phase 63 amp power supply and all of our vehicles have their own 65KVA generators to power our equipment.  Our equipment is inspected before and after use and at regular intervals in between to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations, 1989 and associated legislation.

How Heavy is the Equipment?

The dust extraction unit weighs 570 kilos and the blast head weighs 560 kilos.

What About Waste?

Our machines are dust-free and vacuum assisted so virtually all dust and debris is collected in our extraction units and emptied into suitable skips on site.

What About Noise Levels?

The level of noise at the blast head measures 85 db(a) depending upon the site circumstances. We have a full Health & Safety Policy (which has met CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) standards) to ensure we comply with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations, 2005 and associated legislation. Adequate ear defenders MUST be worn by our machine operators and other persons working nearby.

How Quick is the Blasting Operation?

On new concrete and large open areas, 2,000 m2 of blasting can easily be achieved in one day.

What About Dust Caused by the Equipment?

All equipment is fitted with the best dust extraction units currently available which results in a virtually dust free process.

How do I Know Your Staff Are Qualified?

All our site staff have current, valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards, we are registered with CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) and we are accredited members of CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme).  We can provide documentation to verify our membership or registration with all of these organisations either before or upon our arrival at your site. In addition, we carry out CRB checks on all our site staff.  We provide all PPE and have full liability and contractor's insurance - we are happy to provide you with our policy details.
